I began my career as a traditional Graphic Designer for print but I soon found myself intrigued with the web and its flexibility. So back in the 90’s I found myself gradually moving into web development whilst also continuing with traditional design. Of course this was back in the fun times of building in tables. Thankfully we have moved on from those days (for the most part).
Over time I decided that I wanted continue developing web skills, particularly front end development. So this became my focus going forward and all my time since has been spent reading, researching and applying.
Since then my role throughout my career have been broad. I am still a web developer, but I have also overseen workflows of projects and made sure they stay on target for deliverables and budgets. I develop relationships with clients, making it easier to include them in each stage of their projects. It is important that they know the status of their projects. I also encourage and value their suggestions and feedback.
